COLO SPRGS, CO (Aug 11, 2025) – USA Shooting has earned an impressive four medals on Aug. 10 at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games, with Suman Sanghera claiming the first gold medal for shooting sports in Asunción, Paraguay.
Held every four years, the Junior Pan American Games feature athletes from North, Central and South America.

USA Shooting medalists from Aug. 10 include the following:
- Suman Sanghera: Gold, Women’s 10m Air Pistol
- Aidin Burns: Silver, Men’s Skeet
- Gracie Hensley: Silver, Women’s Skeet
- Alishia “Fayth” Layne: Bronze, Women’s Skeet
Sanghera earned a spot in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol final by placing first in qualification where she set a new Junior Pan American Games record with a score of 572-18x, beating the previous record by five points. The Great Falls, Virginia, native went on to claim gold in the final where she broke another record with a score of 237.2. Sanghera topped the podium by besting Sofia Ibarra of Mexico, who placed second, and Josefina Mella of Argentina, who finished third.
“It is an honor to raise the flag, and I am very proud to have represented my country well,” said Sanghera.
Burns, of Ingram, Texas, earned his silver medal by outshooting Rodrigo Moyano of Chile who earned bronze. In the final, Burns was joined by U.S. teammate Westley Kiter who finished strong in fourth place. Burns’ medal adds to his 2025 success, which includes two medals at the Junior CAT Games earlier this year.
Hensley and Layne continued the strong showing for shotgun with two more medals for Team USA. Hensley, a Shelbyville, Tennessee, native, has been stacking up medals this season, adding to an international collection that includes a bronze at the 2025 Junior CAT Games. Layne is another example of Team USA’s shotgun strength. With multiple international medals, the Columbia, Tennessee, native continues to climb the ranks in her shooting career.
